The Modern Age
The first music ever released by The Strokes was the EP "The Modern Age" - released on January 29, 2001.
The Modern Age featured three tracks - "The Modern Age," "Last Nite," & "Barely Legal."

The Strokes widely hailed debut album. Is This It was released 6 months after "The Modern Age" on July 30, 2001.
Running for a length of 36 minutes and 28 seconds and featuring 11 songs "Is This It" received much praise and adulation. The album was as one of the best albums in years. It had a fresh sound, but at the same time, one that was clearly the product of and influenced by rock music from the past.
"Is This It" played an important role shifting the popular music sound in the early 2000s to a guitar rock sound that drew from the past while incorporating modern style as well.
